TALLOW HAS BEEN USED AS A NATURAL SKINCARE INGREDIENT FOR CENTURIES DUE TO IT'S ABILITY TO BE EASILY ABSORBED INTO THE SKIN WITHOUT CLOGGING PORES OR LEAVING A GREASY FEELING. IT'S FATTY ACID PROFILE, WHICH INCLUDES HIGH AMOUNTS OF OLEIC, PALMETIC, AND STEARIC ACIDS, SUPPORTS ANTI-INFAMMATORY AND ANTI-OXIDANT PROPERTIES. TALLOW IS FULL OF VITAMINS LIKE  A, D, E, AND K (AND REALLY... WHO DOESN'T NEED EXTRA VITAMINS?). IT IS AN AMAZING MOISTURIZER AND SOAPING INGREDIENT THAT IS WELL RECEIVED BY MOST SKIN TYPES.

THE RENDERING PROCESS IS WHAT CHANGES BEEF FAT INTO TALLOW. THIS PROCESS INVOLVES CAREFULLY COOKING DOWN THE FAT AND REMOVING ANY IMPURITIES, TURNING THE FAT INTO SHELF-STABLE TALLOW. IN MANY CASES, BEEF FAT, OR SUET, IS AN UNWANTED BY-PRODUCT OF MEAT PROCESSING, AND IS OFTEN TRIMMED OFF THE MEAT AND DISCARDED.

  2. WASTE NOT, WANT NOT. PART OF THE RESPECTFUL TREATMENT OF OUR ANIMALS MEANS USING AS MUCH OF THE ANIMAL AS WE CAN, INCLUDING TALLOW 
  3. YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT. THE DIET OF CATTLE DETERMINES THE FATTY ACID PROFILE AND VITAMIN/MINERAL CONTENT OF THE FINISHED BEEF & TALLOW. OUR COWS HAVE FREE ACCESS TO GRASS AND HAY DURING ALL STAGES OF THEIR LIVES.

WHEN WE AREN'T ABLE TO USE TALLOW FROM OUR ANIMALS, WE MAKE SURE TO SOURCE TALLOW FROM PRODUCERS THAT FEED THEIR ANIMALS IN THE SAME WAY.
