tallow salt soap | salt & rose clay
tallow salt soap | salt & rose clay
- Created with our grass-fed tallow and other natural and skin-positive ingredients
- Features sea salt and pink Himalayan salt
- Light floral and slightly salty scent
This salt and rose clay bar is lightly scented with notes of cactus flower and sea salt. Both sea salt and pink Himalayan salt contain minerals like magnesium, calcium, and potassium, and are thought to support anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. Their gritty texture can be used to scrub off dead cells for smoother skin.
- Grass fed tallow - Has a unique fatty acid profile that is key to making a good, long-lasting bar of soap. High amounts of stearic and palmitic acid give our grass fed tallow soap bars a soft, creamy lather that gently cleanses your skin. We purposely formulate our bars with extra tallow that's not converted into soap so that your skin can soak up all those vitamins (A, D, E, K) and moisturizing goodness while you wash. This supports skin barrier function and leaves your skin feeling hydrated, soft, smooth, and protected.
- Salt - Both salts work to gently exfoliate, and are thought to help balance oil production in skin.
- Rose kaolin clay - another gentle exfoliator also known to help absorb extra oils and impurities in the skin and smooth appearance
- Plant oils - Formulated to work with our grass fed tallow to gently clean and moisturize.

To use, get bar wet and work into a lather. Wash and rinse clean. For external use only. Avoid direct contact with eyes. Due to the differences from commercially made products, your skin may experience an adjustment period.
To ensure your soap bar lasts as long as possible, try these tips between uses:
- Keep soap in a well drained soap dish & avoid direct water spray.
- Keep bar dry between uses.
- Use a washcloth or loofah. This will use less soap and extend the bar's longevity.
- Avoid direct sunlight & store unused soap in a cool, dark place.
- Best if used within one year.
Our tallow soap starts by rendering suet (a type of fat from cattle). We render it using a combination of wet and dry rendering methods at a low temperature as few times as possible. This process helps to purify the tallow and retain as much of the original vitamin content and fatty acid profile.
We do not add bleach or other chemicals to aid in our rendering process... because ew.
Our soap is then created using tallow, sodium or potassium hydroxide, and other natural and carefully curated ingredients directly on the farm using the cold process method. This ensures each of our bars are gentle, effective, and safe. They are cured for a minimum of 6 weeks before shipping directly to your door.
Sodium & Potassium Hydroxide: Sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide are both necessary to transform oils, fats, and butters into soap. Through the magic that is chemistry and soapmaking, there is zero sodium/potassium hydroxide left in a final bar of soap once they have completed their reaction.
Essential Oils / Fragrance: Soaps that include the use of essential oils or fragrances are created with safety as top priority. Total essential oil and fragrance usage rates comply with IFRA standards of use and safety. We do not recommend the use of fragrance or essential oils for highly sensitive skin, and we do not recommend the use of essential oils for pregnant or breastfeeding moms or children younger than two years old. If that's you, check out our collection of unscented and/or botanically infused products.
Non-Natural Colorants: The use of sythetic micas and oxides in some of our products is to ensure there is zero presence of harmful elements and heavy metals (like lead) that can be found in natural/mined micas & colorants. In addition, our colorants are sourced from suppliers that pride themselves on the ethical treatment of the their workers and the environment.
