INGREDIENTS

• Grass fed tallow - Has a unique fatty acid profile that is key to making a good, long-lasting bar of soap. High amounts of stearic and palmitic acid give our grass fed tallow soap bars a soft, creamy lather that gently cleanses your skin. We purposely formulate our bars with extra tallow that's not converted into soap so that your skin can soak up all that moisturizing goodness while you wash. This supports skin barrier function and leaves your skin feeling hydrated, soft, smooth, and protected
• Plant butters & oils - Formulated to work with our grass fed tallow to gently clean and moisturize the skin without heaviness or excessive greasiness
• Essential Oils - naturally scented with pure, therapeutic grade essential oils

Frosted Citrus Whipped Tallow Body Butter

All of the tallow products at Broken Rock Farms are crafted using carefully chosen ingredients, selected with intention to ensure quality and effectiveness. Our primary goal is to provide tallow based soaps and skincare that focus on supporting natural skin barrier function. Our products are free from sulfates, phthalates, parabens, formaldehyde, petrochemicals, mineral oil, synthetic detergents, and other harsh ingredients.

DIRECTIONS

Soap: To use, get bar wet and work into a lather. Wash and rinse clean. For external use only. Avoid direct contact with eyes. Due to the differences from commercially made products, your skin may experience an adjustment period.  

To ensure your soap bar lasts as long as possible, try these tips between uses:

• Keep soap in a well drained soap dish & avoid direct water spray.
• Keep bar dry between uses.
• Use a washcloth or loofah. This will use less soap and extend the bar's longevity.
• Avoid direct sunlight & store unused soap in a cool, dark place.
• Best if used within one year.

Body Butter: To use, we recommend applying directly after a shower or bath onto damp skin. Start with a small amount to avoid greasiness. Add more as needed. Work butter into skin and allow 1-2 minutes to absorb. For external use only. Due to the differences from commercially made products, your skin may experience an adjustment period. Our products are designed for use on all skin types, however, we always recommend performing a patch test before full body use.

For best results, try these tips with your whipped tallow butter: 

• Store in a cool, dry place and avoid direct sunlight.
  
• If you live in a warmer area, place in the refrigerator to avoid melting and preserve freshness.
• Due to its natural ingredients, separation may occur and is normal.
• If your butter melts or separates, don't panic. Melting and/or separation do not impact product performance. We recommend cooling it down in the refrigerator and giving it a quick stir to reincorporate ingredients.
• When using, make sure your hands are clean and dry.
• Best if used within 6 months.

OUR PROCESS

After the rendering process, our tallow products are created by blending our pure, grass-fed tallow with a selection of natural, skin-loving ingredients to create the perfect balance of nourishment and comfort. Each formula is thoughtfully crafted—combining the deep, restorative moisture of tallow with other butters and oils. The result is skincare that feels rich but never heavy, deeply hydrating yet breathable, and perfectly in tune with your skin’s natural balance.

Sodium & Potassium Hydroxide: Sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide are both necessary to transform oils, fats, and butters into soap. Through the magic that is chemistry and soapmaking, there is zero sodium/potassium hydroxide left in a final bar of soap once saponification is complete. 

Essential Oils / Fragrance: We use fragrances with safety as top priority. Total essential oil and fragrance usage rates comply with IFRA standards of use and safety. All fragrances are phthalate free and California Proposition 65 compliant (they do not contain chemicals listed by the state of California at levels considered harmful to health). We do not recommend the use of fragrance or essential oils for highly sensitive skin, and we do not recommend the use of essential oils for pregnant or breastfeeding moms or children younger than two years old. Non-Natural Colorants: The use of synthetic micas and oxides in some of our products is to ensure there is zero presence of harmful elements and heavy metals (like lead) that can be found in natural/mined micas & colorants. In addition, our colorants are sourced from suppliers that pride themselves on the ethical treatment of their workers and the environment.
