Our balm is made with vanilla infused tallow, oils, and beeswax. It has no additional fragrances or essential oils, but maintains a soft and subtle vanilla scent from the infusion. Tallow infusions are done at low temperatures to maintain the benefits of all ingredients. It's packaged in a portable 1 oz tube so it's small enough to take anywhere and large enough to use on your body.
adeps bovine (grass fed beef tallow) infused with vanilla planifolia (vanilla) fruit, cera alba (beeswax), helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, persea gratissima (avocado) oil, tocopherol (vitamin e).
Our tallow products start by rendering suet (a type of fat from cattle). We render it using a combination of wet and dry rendering methods at a low temperature as few times as possible. This process helps to purify the tallow and retain as much of the original vitamin content and fatty acid profile.
We do not add bleach or other chemicals to aid in our rendering process... because ew.
Our tallow products are then created using tallow and other natural and carefully curated ingredients directly on the farm. During this process we continue to carefully monitor and regulate temperatures to protect the integrity of all ingredients. We focus on using ingredients that nourish, absorb quickly & have a low comedogenic rating, so they are less likely to feel greasy on the skin or clog pores.
Essential Oils: Products that include the use of essential oils are created with safety as top priority. Total essential oil usage rates do not exceed 1% and comply to IFRA standards of use and safety for each oil. We do not recommend the use essential oils for highly sensitive skin, pregnant or breastfeeding moms, or children younger than two years old. Non-Natural Ingredients: Some products contain ingredients that cannot be classified as natural (preservatives and/or emulsifiers), either by the process they are created or the ingredient themselves. These products are included in our formulations for safety and efficacy. All of our non-natural ingredients have been evaluated by the EWG & COSMOS and are considered safe for their intended use.
